Sipadan trips depart from Mabul-area dive resorts. We recommend combining your Santiri stay with a Mabul extension to access permits. Contact us for recommended operators.

Travel Tips

  • Book flights early. Tawau routes fill quickly during school holidays and dive season (March to October).
  • Currency: Malaysian Ringgit (MYR). ATMs are available in Semporna town.
  • Best time to visit: March to October for calm seas and best underwater visibility. Wetter conditions from mid-November to mid-February.
  • Sun protection: bring reef-safe sunscreen. Standard sunscreen damages coral reefs and is discouraged near protected marine park areas.
